Toronto, ON (January 29, 2021) - York United Football Club is delighted to announce Chris Campoli and Danial Rafisamii as their picks from the 2021 CPL - U SPORTS Draft.

With the fourth selection in Round 1, the club chose 19-year-old attacking midfielder Campoli, a native of Woodbridge, ON. In Round 2, with the fifth selection, they went with midfielder Rafisamii, also 19 and a native of Toronto, ON, and Campoli's team-mate at the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

Both enjoyed solid 2019 rookie seasons, playing 29 games between them, while Campoli's six goals and six assists ensured he was voted the team's MVP.

The pair will now be invited to York United's pre-season training and will look to secure a U SPORTS Developmental Contract for the upcoming campaign. That allows a student athlete with one-to-five years of U SPORTS eligibility remaining to sign with a CPL side while still preserving their eligibility before returning to U SPORTS competition.

Chris Campoli

Age: 19

Position: Attacking midfielder

Height: 6-0

Hometown: Woodbridge, ON

School: Ontario Tech

Bio: With an eye for goal, Campoli netted six times last season and also contributed six assists. With 16 appearances for Ontario Tech overall, he was a crucial ingredient in their campaign.

Danial Rafisamii

Age: 19

Position: Midfielder

Height: 5-8

Hometown: Toronto, ON

School: Ontario Tech

Bio: An energetic and tireless presence in the middle of the park, Rafisamii is an intelligent and technically proficient ball player. His first season with Ontario Tech saw him make 13 appearances and conjure one assist and, like Campoli, he proved an integral part of the side.
