York United FC's bitter local rivalry will continue early in the 2024 Canadian Premier League campaign, with The Nine Stripes' home opener seeing them pitted against reigning champions Forge FC.

The teams will do battle on Sunday, April 21 at York Lions Stadium. Kick-off is set for 4pm.

Having met for the very first time on the CPL's historic opening day back in 2019, the intensity has only grown across the subsequent five years.

Martin Nash has faced Bobby Smyrniotis eight times across two seasons and tasted victory on three occasions, with one draw between the sides. In total, there has been 21 fixtures between the clubs and - in true derby style - one goal has separated them in eight of those games.
